About AquaTerra Racing

Marathon SwimAquaTerra has adopted the four most popular running distances as our overall distances: 5K, 10K, Half Marathon/13.1miles and Marathon/26.2 miles. With an emphasis on an even playing field for both swimmers and runners, the AQUATERRA Formula is a 1:4 ratio Swim to Run. The world record in the short course 1500 meter freestyle (swim) is 14:10. The world record in the indoor 1500 meter run is3:31. At their fastest, the runner would cover four times the distance of the swimmer in the same amount of time. By applying the AquaTerra Formula, the four Official AquaTerra Distances are the following: AT5K: Swim 1K/Run 4K; AT10K: Swim 2K/Run 8K; AT13.1Half Marathon: Swim 2.6 miles/ Run10.5 miles; AT26.2Marathon: Swim 5.2 miles/ Run 21 miles

"When it comes to long-distance swims, there is only one that matters and that is the English Channel." MORE>>>
